BELIEVE IT OR NOT, BUT

After watching the Da Vinci Code, I was again having the same eerie thoughts while reading the book a year ago? What about all my belief system about God and Jesus Christ are all wrong? The answer to this question was in the movie itself. Whether Jesus Christ was the son of God or just a human being like you and me, is not a question afterall. What really matters is what you believe in and what it makes out of your life. It is quite hard to explain ... but then again would I be a better person for example if I am not a Christian? There are things in life that we would not be able to fully comprehend. And would never be. And I think it is left better that way!

If we do not have the hope of the love of our Creator shown through the life, death and ressurrection of His Son, Who is God, then what can we put our hope and life in? What of this world has the power to save us from our failings and sin? And as eternal beings, why would we not want to follow Him to paradise?

I agree to that. I also believe that having faith in something more than us give our life more meaning and hope.

I haven't watched the movie yet but read the book. I must say, in the end, I still have the same faith in God.

As you get older, you start to form your own idea of faith. You start to take notice of the world around you and you start to form your own ideas and your own beliefs.

But I dont think people should be so focused on beliefs. Life should malleable and progressive and working from idea to idea permits that. Beliefs anchor you to certain points and limits your growth mentally and spiritually and new ideas can't generate. Life then becomes stagnant and really, who wants a sluggish life?

And I dont think The Da Vinci Code is all that bad. I mean, if it's getting people to talk about God and religion and it's making them explore more into that world...what's the problem?

Sure, the movie may make claims that go against what the Bible says, but if people were smart enough, they would know, they cant use a movie as the final word, you know?

hi vina, faith it is, for what else can you use if logic and a bit of history does not match... you need a leap of faith

You are so right DT. The movie is a good wake up call for people to rethink, reassess and re affirm their faith.
