THE BEBE GANDANG HARI PHENOMENON ....

Too much has been said about the bloosoming of Rustom Padilla now known as Bebe Gandanghari (or Baby Beautiful King) .... has he turned into a crossdresser? a post op transgender or transexual? Or a drag queen or princess? No one really knows - and it should not be anyone's business per se. I believe that the person is entitled to his or her own journey towards self actualization, freedom and happiness. And the fact that she is not hurting anyone in the process is the point of the matter. We owe him or her due respect. Without prejudice or judgement. As a public figure, the transformation from a matinee idol, hunk and even action actor to an effeminate gay guy and then to a pre-op transgender could be too much for the minute minded individuals in the Philippines ... Some people including the crossdresser gay guys and comedians (Vice Ganda, Chokoleit, and even Ricky Reyes) are making pesos in their tirades, making Bebe a laughing stock and a circus freak .... But these are all done for their own self interests ... perhaps! Is it too late for Rustom or Bebe to bloosom? Does he or she even pass for a woman or a lady, or a beautiful transgender now that there are so many of them - prettier and younger at that? Is her styling up-to date? Is she glam and fabulous enough? "Bebe is illustrating a point .... She is happy in her exploration, never too late, no right or wrong - just happy and basking in her new found fredom and frankly enough she does not give a damn! Get it?"

"For sheer bravery, for giving the Filipinos a shock value and another eye opener, and for new found style and glamour - I give Bebe a TEN out of ten! Happy Life Funtastique, sister, mwahhhh !!!"

Vice Ganda, Chokoleit, and Ricky Reyes are obviously insecure and jealous with what BB has now.

its sooo effing obvious. i'm very proud of what BB did and i really look up to him for the strenght he had.

we all know its no easy stuff to come out, especially in his position. [big bod super-hetero brothers, pretty well-known family, etc.]

BB is <3

I love the fact that she has the balls to come out in the open despite her family's opposition, the public's ridicule and condemnation. She has my 100 percent support. I don't judge because I don't want to be judged. And it's true you can't really know how it is until you walk in his or her shoes. BB and I wear the same heels. :) Nice blog girl!

We all know it's not easy to come out of the closet (even I had troubles!) but those whom had the bravery and courage to do so should be applauded for their actions.

Why?

I think they deserve applauds because they are being sincere towards themselves; not lying and trying to be someone they are not and the fact that they are comfortable in their new transformation. This society judges people too much and everything that isn't the norm of society is a load of bull to them. But would they understand the feelings of a GLBT person? I doubt they would because they aren't one.

I think it's not right for the public to ridicule or condemn Bebe because I think she's really brave to do so. We can't judge a book by its cover. Everyone's different and entitled to live the life they want to, di ba?

(:
