MS GAY UNIVERSE AND MS TS UNIVERSE - AUSTRALIAN EDITION

After 3 years of joining beauty pageants and stuff, and not really winning the TOP award, and sometimes just being one of the Thank You gurls, I finally dreamed of organizing the GAY BEAUTY PAGEANT myself. HOPE THIS WILL ROCK THE CROWD NEXT YEAR! -------------------------- *** MY DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO GERARD OR KAWADJAN - Fellow BLOGGER - For the recent death of his father***

A MATTER OF TIMING, LUCK, CHANCE

. . In LIFE, being in the right PLACE at the right TIME and (I will add) the right AGE - - - produces the best results and success in the shortest possible time and scenario. . Like how many times have you missed the boat (train) in a nick of seconds? How many times, have you made a decision that threw you on a different path and altered the course of your life forever? Being in the wrong time? Meeting the right person at the wrong time ... so common eh! . . That is why, we relate very much to Cher's song - If I could Turn Back Time ... etc! And take for example Sandra Seifert (?) above. If she was not eliminated in the BB Pilipinas, then she would not have won the Mutya and now in the running for Miss Earth! But then, if she was chosen in the Binibini then she might have won MU or MW ??? . . Do we really make our LIFE? Or are we mere victims of time and circumstances. Lucky are those who crossed the right time and the right places that perfectly matches their ultimate dreams and desires. . . Should we wish or should we pray? Do we implore the gods and goddesses? And light candles to the saints? Do we plead for the right people to come into our lives? Should we sit and wait for luck to come. Or do we take things into our own hands and make things happen? . . AUCTION !!!

Our house, which was originally part of Devonshire Terrace (circa 1800's) in Richmond will be auctioned this Saturday, November 21 at 10 am. . . We have lived here since 2002 (7 years!!! ), and now we have enough of it and decided to move somewhere else. It is a beautiful house - with all the trappings of the old victorian era, and just at the city fringe, close to everything. . . Hopefully some nice couple have fallen in love with it for the past three weeks that it is being shown in the market, and we have a good turnout during the auction!!!
Front View
Lounge Room
Main Bedroom (of five), overlooking city view (MCG, Melbourne Training Ground, Park).
I have to box all my draggie stuff and store them as they
definitely would not sit nicely with our
decor :)
Kitchen/ Dining
Outdoor entertainment area
Good luck na lang to us !!!
.
.
If it does not get sold during the auction (meeting our reserve price)
it will go on FOR SALE :)

WHAT COULD HAVE BEENS

.
Kakunti lang naman ang mga regrets ko so far. Dahil sa facebook connection kasi, you are found by long lost friends and then the past comes hitting you back like a dam (girl) interrupted.!
.
When you create an account with your real name or identity you are most likely to be found and that's when "real" problem begins.
.
Just like two days ago. A classmate during my first year in college became a close buddy for one semester and then he was gone. It is only after more than a century - that our paths crossed again - via fb. He said that he went back to our place a few years back and tried to find me. (Sweet! - that's not his photo above by the way!)
.
And then it dawned on me (right at that very moment when we were exchanging thoughts and emotions) that I had feelings for him - more than friendship - or had a crush on him (before) but did not realized or entertained (that feeling) until now !!!
.
We were government scholars kasi - so we stayed in the same dormitory, dined together, and went to the same classes - in a very far-away sentimental location. First time we were away from our families - so we bonded like snails or frogs. Our personalities that time were vrey naive to the world - more of like seminarians - or likely going to be priests - straightforward and dedicated students talaga. And then, I moved to another university and he followed after one year. But then all of a sudden, he was missing in action. People were saying he went to the mountains with the rebels.
.
When he was gone though, I totally forgot about him, as I was fully focused on my studies.
.
Until two days ago.
.
He remembered me as I was - a "diligent student" raw. And then all of a sudden I came out to him. At first he was shocked! As he could not imagine me raw being "like" this. I teased and exaggerated on my trannie-formation. I told him I am now fully transformed into a girl with proper boobs and that and that. And even sent him photos to prove.
.
And all of a sudden he said: "Can I f**k you now?"
.
That's when I was totally shocked in return.
. (remember ko tuloy Billy Elliot movie!)

BAHA'

Wala namang masyadong nasasalanta that time ....
.

.

Ibang level ang nangyaring ito. Kaka-awa ang mga biktima. Lalo na ang mga kids at kaninang umaga sa TFC pinakita ang mga dead bodies along the Pasig River.

.

I know it is not time to blame and ask why this happened. Tragedy of course! Pweding sabihing man-made induced calamity. Di maiiwasan ang bagyo. Ang Pilipinas ay nasa typhoon belt. Responsible rin ang mga mamamayan at ang government sa nangyari. Kinulang sa preparedness efforts. This proves na everyone is affected - rich or poor ka man when this kind of calamity strikes.

.

In the meantime, sana ay mas marami pang mag-bibigay ng suporta sa mga nasawi!

THE CRYING GAME

As far as i can remember
the first time i saw this film
i decided to become a drag queen
for all its crying worth!
I just love the beautiful hand movements, the mystery and depth of it all ...
and the social relevance if ever there is/was!
(credits to Jaye Davidson, Boy George and Neil Jordan for coming up with this TS/drag scene performance)

I know all there is to know about the crying game

I've had my share of the crying game

First there are kisses (kisses),

Then there are sighs

And then before you know where you are

You're sayin' goodbye

One day soon I'm gonna tell the moon

About the crying game

And if he knows, maybe he'll explain

Why there are heartaches (heartaches),

why there are tears

And what to do to stop feeling blue when love disappears

First there are kisses (kisses),

then there are sighs

And then before you know where you are

You're sayin' goodbye

Don't want no more of the crying game

Don't want no more of the crying game

I BROKE MY BACK ...

( I think this is what I need this weekend!) Mag to-two months na ever since we started preparing our house for sale. And I am already passed the end of my ropes. I think, I have writing about Saudi, to escape the chaos I have been in at the moment - but now I need to go back to reality. . I think, if ever there are tests to marriages and partnerships, renovating an old house is one of the fast breaker. It is just sooo unfabulous, not funny at all! . N (my long time partner, husband, companion, etc), kasi has been obssessed trying to perfect things. He can't stop doing things even in the middle of the night. As a lighting consultant - he has experience in renovation and house building, so he can do minor and some major repairs. . Whereas, me being the lady of the house, opts to do the conceptualization, finalizing and decorating side of things - which I do very well naturally. . But I hate the dust, heavy objects, dirt, etc ... and though I have been doing it once in a little while in my life, I now DETEST doing manual carpentry work, etc., and promised myself not to be in this stage ever again. . My problem kasi, is that I keep on suggesting things to be done - to have that fresh new look that we want in an old house. This ended up having me and him still doing all the things still - except for the really really hard jobs like fencing and cementing which we need to contract. It is too hard and expensive finding people to do things for you, unlike in pinas - where you can just call the tambays around the block. Here hard laborers are hard to find and you pay top dollar once you find them. . So last Sunday, as with all the moving and carrying things around the house, we have to carry this heavy chinese furniture (actually an old 18th century chicken house) with ornate carvings, etc - from the room on the second floor down to the open entertainment area at the back of the house. Down the two level stairways - I was staggering with the weight, afraid of falling down the stairways with the heavy object. There, I had a brokeback incident, which made me paralyzed the whole night. . Monday morning, I went and see a chiro and with his able hands, the pain subsided and I think he has put back whatever has been misplaced. Yesterday, I went to have my x-ray and will back to the chiro again tomorrow. . The other night, N was again sanding the walls and these killer dust spread with the air all over the house like snow. I was totally devastated - and could not stop from howling and grating my teeth. But there is absolutely nothing I could do but clean up the mess. . With all these things happening, we are still working at home every night we come back from work. We are hoping to beat our deadline and place our house on ads by October - spring! . Hope by then, my life comes back to normal and I will be able to smile and face the world again (Ching!).

GEOGRAPHY OF BLISS

I have just finished reading "The Geography of Bliss" by Eric Weiner and I totally enjoyed it. Thanks to sister of faith - Kawadjan - who introduced this in her blog. Mwah! One main reason that keeps me blogging (or blog hopping) is that I get updated with some of the best stuff out there that other bloggers had already discovered. My easy and lazy way of keeping up with the Joneses! I love this book. He travelled around the world to find the happiest places or people and here's what he found out: "Money matters, but less than we think and not in the way that we think" "Family is important." "So are Friends." "Envy is Toxic." "So is Excessive Thinking." "Beaches are optional." "Trust is Not." "Neither is Gratitude." But these things we already KNOW.
The author just confirmed and analyzed these factors in his journey. He forgot to visit the Philippines (though there were several mentions about pinoys working in Qatar) - but I think the level of happiness in the Philippines would be high despite corruption, poverty and chaos. Just watch Waa-Waa-Wee for instance. What do you think?
I am living in Australia for ten years now. But over the years, I am not THAT that happy despite the following facts suggest.
Australia Happiness level: 7.7 Population: 21,260,000 GDP per capita: $34,359 Happy fact: In 2006, a pair of economists ranked Australia second, after Iceland, in a new kind of happiness ranking. Using the U.N. Human Development Index, which measures life expectancy, education and GDP, the researchers found that Australians were happier than citizens of other nations even though they tended to work long hours and enjoyed less job security.
Maybe because I live in colder zone and I am definitely a summer person. Reason enough to head off to Quensland! But even then, places are just places - The happiest place on earth is where your heart is - where you want to die - and that is HOME! So for the Filipinos abroad - there is always that nagging, constant longing (to go home) that breaks our hearts now and then. If only we have that CHOICE - and can bloody afford it!

I FEEL ....

sooo UGLY!
these days!
but i don't care :)

A TIME TO LET GO ...

definitely
a time to let go
of things
that we've collected
over the years!
renovating a house
and planning to move
to another one
makes you choose only
the things that you want
to keep
and throw all the
others into the bin
those that you can't sell or give away
in my next house
i want to be
purely minimalistic!
(a note for myself!
that is!)

HAPPINESS IN PROGRESS

Apparently, Anthony will be one of the top three designers this year and who knows he might get the crown as Miss Project Runway Australia! I'll be delighted! And just like everything in my life these days, this too is still in progress! Tonight is the night! I am just dead tired with all the renovations we are doing in the house - top to bottom! Can you believe it? And all the stuff we have to get rid of to give space to the rooms! Anyway, we are still on the painting stage. Done the re-carpeting, garden re-paving cementing, etc... and deconstruction works.... I don't have a resting place for my drag outfits and paraphernalias! Kever! I will post some photos soon!

DRAG COSTUMES

Not sure yet if it is really true but
a thread is saying that the winner of the
Best in National Costume is
P-A-N-A-M-A !!!
Actually, her costume is sooo drag and very mardi gras-ueqe!
I am not very impressed with
Bianca's national costume but
she carried it so well I think she
should get high marks for it!
My bet is China ...
And the worst one is from Mexico (?)

07 August 2009

SHE'S SO SWEET NAMAN

I have just seen the interview of Bianca Manalo and
I think that the girl is just so sweet and being true to her self naman.
Although, these virtues may not be the judging points
for a Miss Universe to win the pageant, it does make us
connect with her being a Filipino, just like
these people in Bahamas ...
If the following criteria were to be used then she would
definitely score high:
BEAUTY
SWEETNESS
CHARM
HONESTY
GRACE
ELEGANCE
But we know that Miss Universe has evolved into being
a woman of POWER and X or SEX FACTOR so the following
unwritten ideals are inherent in the judging
.
ATTITUDE (fierceness)
AMIABILITY (verging towards flightiness, flirty)
DRAMA QUEEN PERSONALITY
.
So if ever she does not win or make it to the top five man lang,
she has represented the country in a positive light
reminiscint of a DP (dalagang pilipina) ...
She looks like that girl in the painting with the pearl necklace, diva? She's sooo sweet talagahhh!

MOVING ON ...

Today, yesterday and tomorrow
I am in a "moving" state
moving office at work
and
and preparing our house
so we can move
somewhere else
before the year ends.
Lots of sorting, throwing and heavy lifting involved!
Hmmm ... I need those muscle marys!

YELLOW!

goodbye to a president in a yellow dress!

30 July 2009

COST OF AGING DISGRACEFULLY ...

AGING is a fact of life
no one remains young or in their twenties forever
everyday, every hour, every minute
every living creature grows OLD
no exception to this!
.
.
Unfortunately, we think
14 to 16 is young talaga
17 to 19 mature ka na
when you reach 20 to 24 - old ka na
25 to 29 very old gurang ka na
30 to 35 dinosaur lola ka na
how about those above 35 ???
ewan macgregor?
.
.
Kaya we tend to lie about our age ...
but really, there is no shame in being old
those who are "young" now tend to look down on the older people
as if they remain young forever or own the fountain of youth
not knowing that they will soon be "old" too! diba?
(that's why I always respect older people, ha,ha,ha!)
..
it is a fool's pride making yourself better than older people
only because of your age (discrimination!)
when sooner, without you knowing it, you will be old too,
and what have you got to be proud of?
.
.
yes, we are in a society that celebrates youth
and youthfulness (though this is starting to change!)
those who are older but wanted to be young forever
are in constant search for the
fountain of youth
to preserve
to maintain
to look how they look in their twenties or teens!
.
.
who wants to be old, wrinkly and saggy after all ...
not even Madonna
who "almost" got everything a
material girl can have
at 50!
but not her youth
no matter how hard she tries!
but still she is Madonna!
.
.
and not even the best plastic surgeons and
the most advanced skin rejuvenation and
anti-aging formula and creams can fight the signs
and scars of living a life!
.
.
Just like these famous legs
. . of elle mcpherson, known as the "the body",
at 45 still looks fabulous
but she can't hide the fact that she too is
really getting older.
.
Her legs are showing a condition known as
"creeping" - (creepy no?) which is a condition of
the skin making it less taut and firm
prevalent on people who have little fat
on their bodies and spent much
of their lives on sunnier climate!
(I have seen these in really old people
who are in their 60's or 70's ... Now, I am thinking
it is good to be fat after all and I should
just stay in Melbourne instead of moving to Brisbane!)
.
but it does not matter really for she is still Elle Mcpherson, agree?
.
.
.
.
so how much more aging, we mere
mortals of
limited means are having.
As fast as the bullet I suppose !
.
.
.
So I decided to give my full attention this week on my skin regiments.
better late than never, choz!
.
First thing I did last week was to see a dermatologist who
did a VISIA Skin Photography/analysis on my face.
I am not surprised how much sun damage I have, despite
using daily anti aging and UVA - UVB protection,
for the past ten years, since before
i did not really bother about skin care -(I used
to clean my face with Eskinol - si Lola V kasih- ever since
I can remember - but this alcohol based toner is
actually bad for the skin).
.
And despite having a complexion that should thrive in
tropical and sunny conditions, I am already developing
some dark spots here and there.
And of course the expression wrinkles that are now prevalent
and deepening ...
.
.
.
This was to me an eye opener and made me realize
the utmost importance of a mineral physical reflector of
UVA a+ UVB rays. So this explains why Nicole Kidman
is so afraid of the sun or getting exposed to it!
the analysis even counts the bacteria living in your face! . and so I have to spend more money on thermage (skin rejuvenation) and effective skin products that are more expensive than the one that you buy in the pharmacies. . . The one that was recommended was a daily exfoliating scrub and a tinted daywear SPF 30+ Invisible Zinc. . . And the face of this product is Elle herself, like me, maybe she used this type of product very late in life! Well, I have been using it and I love the fact that it is
a moisturizer, a foundation and a UV protector all in one!
How about you? What kind of products do you use aside
from invasive plastic surgery and botox?
