WOW !!!! IT IS A MAJOR MAJOR
ACHIEVEMENT OF VENUS .... AND IN MAJOR WAY, THE SPOTLIGHT HAS BEEN FOCUSED AGAIN TO THE PHILIPPINES IN A MAJOR EVENT !!! WE SHOULD CELEBRATE IN A MAJOR WAY !!!
MAJORAY !!!! THANK YOU VENUS, WE LOVE YOU !!! WE CANNOT ASK FOR MORE THAN THIS !!!
Now back to reality .... Wow !!!! Life is really boring, after Miss Universe, that is why everyday of the 15 day competition for me was preciously exciting in a major way!!! Obvious ba sa dami ng posts ko. It's really full of intrigue - drama, etc among the fans and avid supporters .... So after this, nothing really major to write na naman ... Now, minutes after the crown was given to Mexico, all these comments and reactions regarding Venus' quick answer to the question "What is the biggest mistake you have done in the past and how did you correct it" surely flooded the gates of the internet forum, blogs, etc, in a major major way, like an earthquake, that it overpowered the fact that Venus actually won over 80 candidates and some of the MAJOR players like Ireland, Venezuela, USA, Colombia ... etc. And she is the ONLY ASIAN !!!! My question is : "HOW WOULD YOU COMPARE TO VENUS, IF YOU WERE THE ONE STANDING AND BEING ASKED THAT QUESTION?" In my 22 years of LIFE as a GAY GUY, I competed in a few gay beauty pageants, and ALL I CAN SAY is that when you are standing there, you will be soooo nervous in a MAJOR WAY, that you would not be able to think properly and answer the question like Gloria Diaz did. Some gay beauty pageants even distributes the questions to the contestants beforehand for them to think and formulate the answers. Even then, some fail to deliver a coherent and strong answer. So I am not in a position to judge the answer of Venus, nor to comment on it! That was her impromptu answer! But overall, I personally believe that more training on this aspect (Q&A) for our contestants is needed, as this is the final determining factor to win the crown - plus of course, the much talked about evening gown and national costume. . FORMULA FOR WINNING MISS UNIVERSE BODY = VENUS LIKE (lean, tall, 22 inches waist), should really be TALL!!! BRAIN = GLORIA DIAZ LIKE
CATWALK= FIERCE ATTITUDE = DAYANARA TORRES, AND EVEN VENUS LIKE THE BEST GOWNS & NATIONAL COSTUMES TO WEAR = FILIPINO DESIGNERS . . and to answer the question:
WE SHOULD LEARN FROM OUR BIGGEST MISTAKES IN THE PAST AND TRY TO CORRECT IT IN A MAJOR WAY IN THE NEXT PAGEANTS, YUN LANG !!! SIGNING OFF

Nakakainis... Di man lang ako nakapag post kung sino mga bet ko... Pero bumuto ako kay Venus dun sa Miss Universe na site... Syempre nationalistic parin ako kahit at some point nagdududa ako kung kaya ba talaga ng mga pinay na lumaban sa international pageants. =)
Gusto ko yung formula mo... kaso parang ang hirap naman. =)

I major, major agree with you. Hirap maging kandidata on stage, lalo na in front of tens of thousands of people in the audience and judges.
Venus did very well. She did what came for in Vegas - to make us proud. Sabi mo nga, sana along with the prep for gown and swimsuit, dapat may prep din to answer question and to think on your feet...
