Now back to reality ....
Wow !!!! Life is really boring, after Miss Universe, that is why everyday of the 15 day competition for me was preciously exciting in a major way!!! Obvious ba sa dami ng posts ko. It's really full of intrigue - drama, etc among the fans and avid supporters .... So after this, nothing really major to write na naman ...
Now, minutes after the crown was given to Mexico, all these comments and reactions regarding Venus' quick answer to the question "What is the biggest mistake you have done in the past and how did you correct it" surely flooded the gates of the internet forum, blogs, etc, in a major major way, like an earthquake, that it overpowered the fact that Venus actually won over 80 candidates and some of the MAJOR players like Ireland, Venezuela, USA, Colombia ... etc. And she is the ONLY ASIAN !!!!
My question is : "HOW WOULD YOU COMPARE TO VENUS, IF YOU WERE THE ONE STANDING AND BEING ASKED THAT QUESTION?"
In my 22 years of LIFE as a GAY GUY, I competed in a few gay beauty pageants, and ALL I CAN SAY is that when you are standing there, you will be soooo nervous in a MAJOR WAY, that you would not be able to think properly and answer the question like Gloria Diaz did. Some gay beauty pageants even distributes the questions to the contestants beforehand for them to think and formulate the answers. Even then, some fail to deliver a coherent and strong answer. So I am not in a position to judge the answer of Venus, nor to comment on it! That was her impromptu answer!
But overall, I personally believe that more training on this aspect (Q&A) for our contestants is needed, as this is the final determining factor to win the crown - plus of course, the much talked about evening gown and national costume.

Sa Miss Universe dapat always camera conscious ka. One should always think that there are invincible paparazzi around - that you are being photographed or videoed all the time ...
Kasi the cameraman sometimes do not care... basta shoot nalangng shoot and then post kaagadsainternet.... kaya we have a lot of people saying na this contestant is not consistent in her photos kasi may mgapangittalaganalumalabas, or not flattering enuff ... the camera does not lie talaga ... kungpangitka mas papangitka pa - except if you have that God given gift of being a friend to the camera..... kaya we have that photogenic award - for those not really good looking in real life but comes across as really attractive in the photos .... ergo I am not in favor of the Philippines winning the Ms Photogenic Award !

hEY !!!! tHE Glam SHOTS are just OUT !!! And though I am quite happy with the photos of Venus... it seems that our girl was again NOT given the best angle, background and body painting by the photographer - Fadil whatsoever! I was expecting more !!!

like if they really thought about it, they should not have those brown trees as her background ... blue skies against the gray building should have been better ... to flatter her body and the pale gold color (did not really show) ... even a white background (like with Japan) would have been perfect for her!

In the first place the photo concept was all over the place. No unifying theme. Some are in b & w and some in color. Some are in flattering background and some just taken as if they were waiting for the photoshoot. Some were in body paint and some were NOT. And some wore different type of bikini.

aND I think the only thing they wanted to PROMOTE was the TOPLESS concept to attract some public INTEREST and a little bit of CONTROVERSY or NEWS!!!! At the expense of the girls who are fool enough to agree to be TOPLESS (USA, T&T, Japan).... and for those who did not agree were just given a so-so puta shoot!
Well, at least VENUS, against ALL ODDS, has again succeeded in coming out with a fierce and attention grabbing photo !!!
When there are sooo many nicer GOWNS in the Philippines like these ...
It is really difficult to understand WHY our contestants to the ms universe always end up wearing NOT the "best gowns and national costumes" (that we could ever produce for goodness' sake) during the pageant !!!
Assuming that she is really representing the Philippines, or isn't she? And if so, what does the Philippine government has to say about this? Nothing?
It's so nakakainis na talaga. Is there really some kind of sabotage going on with BPCI or the organizer? What is going on ???? bakit every year na lang?
All the Venus Raj supporters and fans are sooo upset about this gown (just like last year with Bianca Manalo) this one looks like pang ballroom dancing lang talaga sha ... i have better gowns that I used in Ms Gay contests than this sa true lang ... and despite the efforts of Venus to make it work the whole package still comes out inferior compared to the other worn by contestants .... not even changing the color could make the gown any better :) As redone by a fan in one of the forums.
It is sooo hard to believe that we cannot let our contestant wear the BEST gown ever. I don't think it is financial matter. And I don't think our contestants had a say in choosing their gowns and wardrobe - - which should be the case any way.
There must be a problem and this should be seriously addressed to as soon as possible !!!

Raj was born out of wedlock in Doha, Qatar, but she was taken to Bato, Camarines
Sur in the Bicol Region, Philippines as an infant when her Filipino mother and
Indian father separated. It was her mother, a tenant farmer and dressmaker,
who solely brought her up as a child.
Raj had lived in a nipa hut
made of wood, bamboo and anahaw leaves with no electricity in the middle of a

that walking on a rice paddy dike was her early training for walking on fashion
